How do I book my first appointment?

Head to our Booking page, choose your care type, select a provider, pick a date and time, and confirm. You'll receive an instant confirmation via email and SMS. No account needed for your first booking.

Is NovaMed covered by my insurance?

NovaMed accepts most major US insurance plans including Blue Cross, Aetna, United Healthcare, Cigna, Humana, Medicare, and Medicaid. Self-pay options start at $49/visit. Use our insurance checker or contact us to verify your coverage before booking.

How does the telehealth visit work?

After booking, you'll receive a secure video link. Click the link at appointment time — no app download needed. Works on any modern browser on iOS, Android, Mac, or Windows. Your provider will join within your appointment window.

Is my health data secure and private?

Yes. NovaMed is fully HIPAA-compliant. All data is end-to-end encrypted, stored in SOC 2 Type II certified infrastructure, and we will never sell or share your personal health information with advertisers. You can request a full export or deletion of your data at any time.

Can I get prescriptions through NovaMed?

Yes. Our licensed providers can prescribe most non-controlled medications during a telehealth or in-person visit. Prescriptions are sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy. Controlled substances require in-person evaluation per federal law.

How do I cancel or reschedule?

You can cancel or reschedule for free up to 2 hours before your appointment through your Patient Portal or by clicking the link in your confirmation email. Late cancellations may incur a $15 fee to respect your provider's time.

I'm a doctor — how do I join the network?

We'd love to have you. Credentialing typically takes 5–7 business days. Use the "Provider Partnership" tab above or email providers@novamed.health. We offer competitive compensation, flexible scheduling, and full admin support.

What if I need emergency care?

NovaMed is not a substitute for emergency care. If you are experiencing chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, loss of consciousness, or any life-threatening emergency — call 911 immediately or go to your nearest emergency room.
